Below is a photo from this weekend. Unlike the last blog, this is women’s ice hockey between Augsburg and Gustavus. The game was a score-fest, with Gustavus notching a 9–0 win.

Augsburg goalie Brianna Schulz was powerless to stop No. 7 Gustavus’s potent offense including this goal by Mollie Carroll (left) in the third period of a NCAA Div. III women’s hockey between Augsburg vs. Gustavus Adolphus. Gustavus won the contest 9–0, including 4 goals scored by forward Allie Schwab (not shown). (Caleb Williams/d3photography.com)

While it’s a little outside of my normal style, I did a portrait of my stepbrother Ethan yesterday.

Here are a couple of bottles from a recent shoot I did.
1.

2.

Virtually same lighting: two Photogenics 3/4 with strip box on each side, one more Photogenic on top with a ridiculously small softbox (the UV shot had a reflector in the upper front) and finally a Elinchrom mini-spot on the front of each bottle.

I kicked off the 2011-12 college sports season on September 3 at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota where the Grinnell Pioneers came to visit the Scots. It was an overcast day and rain passed just north, but it stayed nicely dry on this stretch of Snelling Avenue.

Granera had seven catches for 83 yards and a touchdown, adding a field goal in the second quarter as well as four P.A.T. in the second half.

Grinnell linebacker Jeremy Wiles fires up the Pioneers sideline in the second half of a game against the host Macalester Scots. The Pioneers won 31–6 while Wiles had two solo tackles and two assists.
You may be asking why these are all cropped square and the reason is that when I first processed these the portfolio show I was going to be in was thinking of doing a square crop theme and and I wanted to try to apply that to sports.
