For only the second time since 2000, St. Olaf captured the men’s basketball Goat Trophy — given to the winner of the season series between crosstown rivals St. Olaf and Carleton College in Northfield, Minn.
Today was Senior Day at St. Olaf and the Oles honored three seniors. Two of them combined for 44 of the Oles’ 73 points.
St. Olaf Head Coach Dan Kosmoski honored three seniors before the game: Mark Weilcoh, Bobby Fong and Stu Neville. Fong has started in all but two games in his career, coming into the contest with 1,295 points and 457 rebounds.
A few days off. Sorry guys. I started the morning at Augsburg shooting the Minnesota Duals, a quadrangular involving the four Division III wrestling schools in Minnesota: No. 2 Augsburg, No. 8 St. John’s, No. 18 Concordia and St. Olaf. This evening, I decided to try something new and shoot tennis. Having played tennis once 15 years ago and never having shot it before, it was quite a steep learning curve. I hope to shoot it again soon.
Update: January 28, 2012 10:58 p.m. An earlier caption did not include the name of the player, Rachel Niemi, or the result of their match.
A couple days off from this. I can’t believe it was that long. No sports on Saturday or Sunday didn’t help.
Tonight I was at Augsburg shooting men’s basketball and Augsburg senior Andy Grzesiak-Grimm scored his 1000th point in his college career. Grzesiak-Grimm also has 600 rebounds, the sixth Auggie to do so.
Augsburg Athletics used my shot in their game story.
