Last night I had the privilege of shooting Div. I women’s hockey for USCHO.com. I was lucky enough to capture images from the historic University of North Dakota win over the University of Minnesota — the first in the program’s history — and be one of only two still photographers at the game.
I would like to thank Ryan Coleman for the assignment and letting me use his lens, Melissa Wade for the use of my photo (below) on USCHO.com and Gopher women’s hockey SID Michelle Traen for the assistance with my questions and stats and for approving the access.
University of North Dakota defender Jordan Slavin (7) (Fr., Erie, Colo./Erie Select U19) celebrates a historic 4–3 win over host University of Minnesota with teammates Stephanie Roy (39) (Sr., Grande-Digue, New Brunswick/Hebron Academy) and goaltender Jorid Dagfinrud (So., Sarpsborg, Norway/IHK Sparta Sarpsborg) and center Jocelyn Lamoureux on Oct. 15, 2010 at Ridder Arena in Minneapolis, Minn. Slavin, playing her first game of the season, scored the game-winning goal 32 seconds into the third period, breaking a 3–3 tie. The win is the first for North Dakota over the University of Minnesota in 29 chances after the UND program began in 2002. (Photo by Caleb Williams/d3photography.com)
